Central Iowa Sports Social Media & Marketing Internship

The image above displays my first attempt at creating a new logo for Central Iowa Sports for their “Fall Brawl” that occurs every September for Fast Pitch. This design was created by using Adobe Illustrator. I incorporated some things they had done in the past, like the baseball bats, along with the leaves to represent the timing of the event for the fall season. I used both of the original CIS and USSSA logos that are required to be included within the design. Our goal was to use only three colors and have a consistent balance with those, but to expand on our font.

The social media picture displayed above is the #MondayMotivation Central Iowa Sports posts every week with an inspirational quote. I used Canva to create this with simple changes to make the wording stand out to the readers and posted to our social media platforms–Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

The above logo is one of my ideas/designs created through Adobe Illustrator for one of the Fastpitch events coming up for the fall of 2021. The name of the event is September Showdown–I chose to use the fire to show the heat of the event and used the baseball helmets to be pushing against each other to represent part of the name for “showdown.” I used fall colors for this as well, which matched for the fire in the background.

The logo above was a creation possibility for this upcoming fall as well. One of the events is called “Super Hero Shootout.” My idea was to use Captain America’s shield, since he’s a hero, and make it a target, too. I wanted to have baseball incorporated within it, so that’s where it fits in for going through the target for the “shootout” part of the logo. I also have the two logos for Central Iowa Sports that are required in the circles as well to not distract from the artwork.

“GAME DAY” was a design intended to be posted on the Saturday the tournaments began for the weekend of May 15-16, 2021. This was used to show the events for that weekend, including May Madness and Primetime Showtime. This advertisement was posted to Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter the morning of the tournaments starting on that Saturday to promote them and get the families excited!

This is another #MondayMotivation used for the week of 5/24/21 on the social media sites of Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook to use an inspirational sports quote for Central Iowa Sports followers. The goal is to keep them simple, yet effective in making the viewers feel that CIS wants kids to attain their goals through our program and tournaments.

Above is the second design idea I came up with for the Fall Brawl tournament that is coming up for CIS and USSSA events this fall. I used the leaves to represent the season of fall (as I have been with other ideas), the bats for the sport of fastpitch, and the colors to also remind people of fall and to make the name stand out.

This design above is another #MondayMotivation that was designed for the week of 6/7/21. I found the quote online that, again, relates in someway to sports and was used as an inspirational quote to be posted to our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.

The two pictures above were the biggest part of my internship. These are described under our “MVP Profiles,” which are nominations for the Most Valuable Players on both the baseball and fastpitch teams. My main job was to use these two templates for the boys and girls to continually add their names, teams, age and division, favorite athlete, favorite food, most memorable moment of the season, and then a picture of that player to our MVP website for others to view!

Above is the social media post that I collaborated with my work supervisor on! Our goal was to create a post that gave to examples of chosen players to be MVP’s of the week to promote signing up for MVP registration and to get the parents/players excited for the end of the summer season tournaments.
Above is a second draft as a possibility for one of the Fastpitch tournaments coming up this fall through CIS. My goal was to make it fun for the players and kids since the title included superheroes in it! I used tracing methods to find cartoons and mimic them onto here.

Another tournament that I had previously been designing before (above), had a couple drafts. This is the second draft I created to show another way that this tournament could be resembled and add some of the past design within it (the orange splatter background behind it).
Cardinal & Gold Club (Advertising Agency Club through ISU)

This is an example of a project done for Iowa State University’s Club, the Cardinal & Gold. This poster was used to intrigue students into joining during Club Fest week and was worked on through Adobe Illustrator.

This is another example of a project done for the Iowa State University’s Club, the Cardinal & Gold. This logo was designed for the company, Autographed Wax, who needed a new logo and color scheme completely. The company focuses on autographs of multiple things records, sports-related items, and more.
This is a practice piece for a recent project through the Cardinal & Gold of the TRANSIT logo for a business based on street clothing–the crosswalk leading up the the name is to represent the style of the clothing and where it is meant to be worn.

The project below was done through MKT 340. The assignment was to recreate an existing business or company as your client by promoting a new product to encourage a solution to help consumers buy more! The client done for this was Chick-fil A and the new product idea was a healthier chicken sandwich to solve the solution for college students trying to eat better. I used SWOT analysis to help determine this outcome.
Introduction to Publishing and Design (Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
Here is an example of a first draft logo done through Adobe Illustrator to demonstrate the annual AEJMC conference meeting in Detroit for 2022. It was used with restrictions of black and white, no gradients/tints/shadows, and buildings to represent the city in which it’s taking place.

This photo was one we used for manipulation to understand the tools with Adobe Photoshop. Our goal was use the varying editing tools, styles, and to add in the logo where it was visually appealing for the audience.

Containers in Motion Internship
facebook.com/Yurtspaces/?ref=page_internal
For my first project in this marketing internship, I created a Facebook page that gave the necessary information and advertising for Yurtspaces.com. I was able to identify the key components of what captures the attention for customers needing or wanting to buy a yurt and implement it into the site. The link above takes you to the page to see the creation!
